Columnist Ahoy Synthesis

Gail Collins- New York Times

Ms. Collins is more concerned with political leaders and their views rather than her own views on society.  She is so connected to the Republican campaign and how it will affect the political aspect of this country.  Her focus on issues with teens and school are tied into her question of how our government will help or harm the cause.  The excitement of scandal, oddball candidates, and they're ideas is what Collins is most fascinated about, and therefore it is her purpose in being a columnist.
